On 4 December 2005 Times Herald-Record reported: Transcendental Meditation practitioners in Goshen, Indiana, USA, hope to soon house a 10,000 square-foot marble Peace Palace for the area on their 818-acre organic vegetable farm. The Peace Palace will be one of a network of 2,400 such Peace Palaces to be built throughout the US specially designed to promote peace on Earth. This facility will also provide offices for Maharishi Vedic Organic Products. It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of world peace.

Barbara Ebel, director of the farm, said her group, Global Country of World Peace, builds according to Vedic laws of architecture that are thousands of years old. Similar Peace Palaces across the country contain residential living spaces, classrooms, meditation rooms, dining halls, and in some cases, spas. The Times Herald-Record article noted that while variations on the design exist, all the facilities must conform to certain rules of orientation, proportion, and topographical location.

For example, the article noted that the layout of the building should be aligned the true north/south, east/west axis. Having an entrance on the east side is most auspicious, while a south-facing entrance is harmful, inducing problems and suffering. A water body, such as a pond, placed northeast of the building is favourable, the article reported.

According to Global Country's Web site, a basic peace palace costs about $3 million US to build, the article said. 'The long-term goal is to have a Peace Palace within every population of 150,000 people,' said Richard Quinn, a regional representative of Global Country based in Goshen. 'Right now, we're just focusing on those places with 100,000 people or more.'

Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
