On 17 June 2005 Rapid City Journal reported:
Kent Hyde, a spokesman for a Rapid City, South Dakota project to build a Peace Palace explained that 'the venture would benefit local residents by making them healthier, more creative and more enlightened'. Hyde, who is a practitioner of the Transcendental Meditation Programme (TM), a technique brought to the US by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, said that when large groups of people practise TM together, 'good things happen'.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of world peace.
'The crime rate will drop during the time that the large groups are together. Sickness rates, accident rates, all the indicators of stress in a society see some improvement,' Hyde was quoted as saying.
Hyde went on to say that the effects of the Peace Palace would have an impact on world peace as well. 'As this nation goes, so goes the world,' said Hyde. 'If nothing more, this is the primary goal of the Peace Palaces, to create (an) atmosphere of harmony.'
Hyde and his colleague, Edith-Maria Redlin, explained that the Peace Palace would offer instruction in the Transcendental Meditation Programme and would offer group practice of the advanced programme of Yogic Flying. In addition the facility would offer 'brain mapping', which shows how meditation positively affects brain waves, Maharishi Ayurvedic services to promote health, and Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, a system of archtectural design 'that deals with the placement and proportion of buildings and rooms to maximize cosmic harmony'.
Until land and financing are in place for the Peace Palace, a 'Maharishi Enlightenment Center' will serve the community with TM classes, Ayurvedic spa services, and the sale of Maharishi Ayurveda herbal products and natural fibre clothing.
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
