by Matt Kelley

24 September 2004
On 24 September 2004 Radio Iowa reported:
In a radio interview the Hollywood director, David Lynch, says we will have perpetual peace when 8,000 people are gathered together to practise Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation programme.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of world peace.
Lynch, who is famous for producing a variety of films, is participating this weekend in a world peace conference in Fairfield, Iowa. A member of the board of directors at Maharishi University of Management, he says, 'It brings peace, real peace, and peace is not just the absence of war. This real peace, being enlivened, drives negativity away like light drives darkness away.'
Lynch, who has practised TM for over 30 years explained, 'The greatest machines on earth are human beings, built to dive within and enliven that field of unity and project it out. On the individual level, this leads to higher states of consciousness and enlightenment which is the birthright of every human being. On the world level, it leads to peace, real peace, on earth.'
The plan for perpetual peace is from His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who is well known in the world. Lynch admits it could be difficult to bring together the group of eight thousand practitioners of TM. He points out that, 'Eight thousand people together is a small city, and it needs setting up, and it needs to be set up so it runs perpetually. This is the goal.'
Asked how he got involved with the Fairfield Iowa project, he replied, 'When I heard about the real possibility for this technology making peace on earth, I just couldn't sit still. I wanted to get involved and try to help make this happen.'
There will be several other speakers at the Sunday 'Creating Peace' conference, including a former Assistant Secretary General of the UN, a former presidential candidate from the Natural Law party, and a host of other scientists, politicians, artists, and musicans.
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
