Ancient technology revived: The Maharishi Vedic Observatory - Part I

13 April 2008
'Align your awareness with the intelligence expressed throughout the cosmos, align your physiology with the physiology of the universe and gain the evolving quality of the ever-expanding universe in your individual awareness.' —Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
The Maharishi Vedic Observatory has been developed as a result of travel in inner space—unbounded awareness, Transcendental Consciousness—resulting from regular practice of the Maharishi Transcendental Meditation program; and from traveling to and studying the ancient observatories of India during years of dedicated research and design under the direct guidance of Maharishi.
The revival of this ancient Vedic technology aligns one's vision with the orderly setup of cosmic performance from wherever one is on Earth. Maharishi Vedic Observatory allows one to gain the benefit of Nature's Intelligence—a life lived in accord with all the Laws of Nature. As a result, daily life begins to move with the support of Natural Law.
The program of the Maharishi Vedic Observatory is to align one's awareness with the orderly dynamism of the universe and thereby to tune one's self with the eternal order of cosmic life. Natural Law, which steers the course of the evolution of the universe, comes into attunement with our observing through the instruments of this Observatory.
The precise measuring instruments of the Maharishi Vedic Observatory reflect, in their form and function, the movement of the stars and planets with relation to the individual, and display this precise mathematical relationship.
All values of time are expressed in sundial-like instruments that measure the Sun, counting the hours of the day, reflecting the Sun's movement across the sky, and displaying its relationship with all life on Earth. The instruments of the Maharishi Vedic Observatory display this regular movement in the shapes and markings of the instruments themselves.
The instruments also express all values of space and direction, first by locating the North Star, and then deriving all directions—north, south, east, and west—from there. The Maharishi Vedic Observatory can be understood to be the structure of the universe as detected from the shadow caused by the Sun.
Waking, dreaming, and sleeping states of consciousness are not real states of consciousness; they come and go, circling. These three states of consciousness hide their own basis, which is Pure Consciousness—Transcendental Consciousness*. When Transcendental Consciousness is shadowed, then what is operating is a shadow of consciousness. But the shadow can become shallow; its reality can become the Sun.

Global Good News comment:
* Maharishi explains that beyond the familiar states of waking, dreaming, and sleeping are four higher states of consciousness—Transcendental Consciousness, Cosmic Consciousness, God Consciousness, and Unity Consciousness—each bringing a new dimension of experience, knowledge, and fulfillment.
Global Good News will feature Part II of this article in the coming days.
