Doctor behind seasonal affective disorder brings meditation mission to Britain

On 12 October 2016 The East Anglian Daily Times reported: Dr Norman Rosenthal, psychiatrist and author of The New York Times best-seller ''SUPER MIND: How to Boost Performance and Live a Richer and Happier Life Through Transcendental Meditation'' is also a clinical professor of psychiatry at Georgetown Medical School and was the first psychiatrist to describe and diagnose the form of depression—Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).
In his British tour giving presentations at hospitals, medical schools, universities, and public forums, he says, 'I now want to encourage the use of Transcendental Meditation as a tool for treating things like anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder.

'With my own patients,' Dr Rosenthal says, 'I say there are medicines available, but that there are also other methods that can help, like therapy, exercise and this other approach, [TM] with which I have seen noticeable results.'
