Transcendental meditation shows promise as PTSD therapy

On 28 May 2016 The Military Times reported: Psychologist Dr. Bret Moore, who served two tours of duty in Iraq, writes of studies that show Transcendental Meditation providing effective relief to those suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. He points out a study conducted at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Georgia, showing reduced use of psychotropic medication among veterans suffering from PTSD. Where those in the TM group saw a reduction in the severity of their psychiatric symptoms, the non-TM group saw an increase.
