Dreaming of becoming a doctor who has mastered the best of both Eastern and Western medical knowledge? Here's your chance to do so quickly and without stress.

While this possibility might sound ''too good to be true,'' the seven-year collaborative track developed by Maharishi University of Management (MUM) and American University of Integrative Sciences School of Medicine (AUIS), located on the Caribbean island of St. Maarten, does offer such a program—and even more.

Students undertaking the joint program will start at MUM, gaining relevant knowledge and skills for attending medical school and receiving a bachelor's degree in Pre-Integrative Medicine.

Upon successful completion of MUM's BS program, students can matriculate directly into AUIS, with tests, applications, and interviews already undertaken.

While bypassing separate medical school entrance procedures already takes a big burden off the students' shoulders, it's not the only way the bodies and minds of budding doctors are spared from the harmful effects of stress.

All undergrads at MUM are trained in and regularly practice Transcendental Meditation, a technique that has been scientifically shown to increase resilience to stress, boost brain power, and improve overall health and well-being. All these benefits will help prepare future doctors for the challenges of both medical school and their professional careers.

The four-year medical school program at AUIS includes two years of basic sciences taught on the island and two years of clinical rotations in American hospitals, including one rotation at the MUM campus clinic, for training in specialties such as internal medicine, surgery, family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and psychiatry. During the rotations, students will continue their studies in order to integrate modern medical and natural medical practices via ongoing teleseminars with MUM faculty.

So by enrolling in the Integrative Medicine MD program at AUIS, the future doctors will graduate with a dual degree: an MD from St. Martinus University Faculty of Medicine and an MS in Maharishi AyurVeda and Integrative Medicine from MUM. This entire degree program can be completed in as little as seven years instead of the typical eight or more.

Dr. Robert Schneider, director of the Institute for Natural Medicine and Prevention at MUM, for whom the MD/MS program fulfils a lifelong dream of integrating top-notch Western and Eastern medical knowledge, says:

''The students will receive a high level of training in science and in evidence-based approaches to both types of medicine. They will be well qualified to fill the increasing number of job openings in integrative medicine clinics and centers in the U.S.''
