College of Maharishi Ayur-Veda Translate This Article
19 July 2013
Last month the College of Maharishi Ayur-Veda, MERU, Switzerland offered Part One of the new four-part course, 'Healthy, Happy Mother and Baby', in Seelisberg—introducing to women health professionals the time-tested knowledge of Maharishi Ayur-Veda health care in the context of mother and baby care.
The course has been developed by an international group of experienced pediatricians, obstetricians, gynecologists, nurses from several countries, as well as aromatherapists and specialists in other relevant aspects of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's holistic integrative approach to health, working with well-known Ayur-Vedic physicians from India, those whose family traditions in Ayur-Veda (Science of Life) date back thousands of years.
In addition to distinguished faculty leading Part One, the College of Maharishi Ayur-Veda gratefully acknowledged other specialists, doctors, and health professionals 'who have contributed greatly to the creation of this course':
∙ Dr Karin Pirc, Medical Director of the Maharishi Ayur-Veda Health and Seminar Centre in Bad Ems, Germany, which is accredited as a state recognized private hospital; ∙ Dr Maiu Plado, Medical Doctor, Estonia, specializing in research in consciousness through Maharishi's Vedic Science and Technology of Consciousness; ∙ Dr Lorenza Ghargetti, Pediatrician, an expert in high risk newborns and prenatal care, Italy; ∙ Dr Rosie Geelvink, Director of the Department of Maharishi Aromatherapy, Maharishi College of Perfect Health, The Netherlands.
The College is also 'extremely grateful to our very experienced Ayurvedic physicians who have worked extensively on this course to ensure that no precious aspect of knowledge is overlooked':
∙ Vaidya Manohar Palakurthi BAMS, Ashtavaidya E.T. Ravi Mooss BAMS; Dr Arya R Mooss BAMS; and Vaidya Prathmesh Vyas BAMS, all highly respected Ayurvedic Physicians, the international consultants of Maharishi Ayur-Veda Health Centres; ∙ Dr Sunil Patil, Ayurvedic Physician and Researcher, President of the National Integrated Medical Association, Maharashtra State, India; ∙ Dr Hema Reddy, Ayurvedic Physician, India; and ∙ Vaidya Anand Kumari Sharma, Maharishi Ayurvedic Physician and teacher, and specialist in Ayurvedic Surgery.
Ayur means 'Life', and Veda means 'Total Knowledge'. These experts in the field of Ayur-Veda have brought the full dignity and authority of the traditional authentic Vedic Science and Technology of Health to bear on every aspect of this programme for mother and baby. The College of Maharishi Ayur-Veda looks forward to their continued contributions in the development of the advanced courses for doctors and nurses.
