Optimizing Health for Preconception, Pregnancy, Delivery, and Postnatal Care
An Advanced Paradigm in Mother and Baby Health Care:
Simple, Traditional, Time-tested Knowledge Practically Presented to Supplement Modern Medicine
Special three-part course offered for the first time by the
International Foundation of Total Knowledge Based Health
Every newborn child is a very precious expression of pure intelligence who deserves to grow in health, happiness, and enlightenment. The International Foundation of Total Knowledge Based Health has these highest ideals in mind when introducing the time-tested knowledge of Maharishi Ayurveda health care in the context of mother and baby care.
A very special three-part course has been created by leading experts in this field, and is being offered for the first time for mothers, mothers-to-be, and women health professionals. The course is being given in three sessions at MERU in Sint Odilienberg, Netherlands. Part One, on Preconception, begins 22 March. Part Two, Pregnancy and Delivery, will be offered in September; and Part Three, Postnatal Care, in December.
Over the last four years experienced pediatricians, obstetricians, gynecologists, nurses from several countries, as well as aromatherapists and specialists in other very relevant aspects of traditional Vedic Science and Technology—all with knowledge of Ayurveda and other aspects of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's holistic, integrative approach to health—have worked extensively with a number of the most traditional and well-known Ayurvedic physicians from India, those whose family traditions in Ayurveda date back hundreds, if not thousands of years.
Together they have been developing a very practical package of knowledge that can be offered globally to address the very timely need in every country.
Part One of the course, on Preconception, will cover the following topics:
1. Introducing Maharishi Ayurveda—a prevention-oriented, holistic system of health care
2. Good health through prevention: 16 fundamental topics concerning good health and prevention
3. The role of Vedic Astrology (Jyotish) for successful family planning; and refreshing
and rejuvenating Maharishi Ayurveda seasonal spa treatments and special programmes for the mother-to-be
4. Healthy diet, nourishing the whole physiology
5. Healthy lifestyle—healthy home and environment, and healthy daily routine. Mentally and physically preparing for a healthy pregnancy.
The three-part series is an introductory course for mothers, mothers-to-be, and women health professionals, including those who practise Transcendental Meditation, as well as those who have not yet learned the practice.
In the future, organizers say, there will be a teacher training programme for all those interested in promoting this valuable knowledge in their countries—a course especially for doctors, nurses, and other health professionals. There will be a consultants' training course to train therapists/technicians in the techniques of this special programme. The basic three-part course described above is a prerequisite to qualify for any of these upcoming training courses.
This course will also be adapted and held as part of the health curriculum at Maharishi Invincible Nations Universities in different countries, and will be offered next year as a videotaped course in local Maharishi Health Centres.
Maharishi College of Vedic Medicine welcomes all the mothers of the world to take advantage of this simple, pure, safe, and complete approach to health for mother, father, and children, to secure healthy, happy, problem-free life for this and all future generations.
