Fundacion Hogares Claret, a network of rehabilitation centres in Latin America, has been utilizing Transcendental Meditation (TM) and its advanced programmes, along with other alternative therapies such as yoga, for about 10 years as an effective treatment method for youth and families affected by drug addiction. Through the years this has become a very established project in these centres.
In the past few years the project has been increasingly successful, said a Transcendental Meditation teacher, with participants enjoying a deeper quality of experience in their rehabilitation programme.
Another aspect that has grown is the importance of Transcendental Meditation in Hogares Claret's rehabilitation centres. In the past, the meditation technique and the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi programme were helping those who needed rehabilitation for three to six months, but now many of the children learning TM are entering programmes for three to six years. Clearly, these are children who need more assistance, and the foundation has decided that Transcendental Meditation is a good way to provide it.
With so many years of successful rehabilitation, the project is becoming an example for Latin America and the rest of the world, showcasing how rehabilitation is possible, how it is possible to make the life of troubled and addicted members of society much better, and how to do so without unnecessary medication and side effects.
Based on the success of this programme, Transcendental Meditation teachers are planning to make a video and craft a proposal to send to the authorities, governments, and other rehabilitation programmes. They feel this uniquely effective approach should have a wider audience and wider implementation.
'With coherence growing' in society, due to the influence of all the participants practising Transcendental Meditation, the teacher said, 'all these projects are expanding and blossoming, and they will interface with each other to create a beautiful mosaic of rising success in the projects and coherence for the world.'
