Operation Warrior Wellness aims to treat - and ultimately prevent - Post-Traumatic Stress

Though Operation Warrior Wellness has been successful and drawn support for its focus on treating the devastating effects of Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), leaders in the organization are quick to point out that the ideal situation would be to prevent stress in the first place.
For the past several years Operation Warrior Wellness, a division of the David Lynch Foundation, has been bringing to the attention of military leaders and veterans across the US the successful treatment of PTS through the simple, cost-effective Transcendental Meditation technique. Scientific and anecdotal evidence both are documenting the effectiveness of this programme and its absence of side effects.
However, Dr Sarina Grosswald, Post-Traumatic Stress and meditation researcher, who is a George Washington University-trained cognitive learning specialist, has explained that the ultimate goal is to eliminate the creation of PTS in the first place.
Dr Grosswald noted the overall goal of Operation Warrior Wellness to create 'invincibility' for the nation, described as an unshakable level of permanent peace, harmony, good health and prosperity for the population. The ideal situation, she said, is to prevent problems before they arise—the approach promoted by the founder of the Transcendental Meditation programme, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
It's preferable to prevent a problem rather than trying to solve an existing one, she added.
Currently Operation Warrior Wellness has been extending its outreach efforts to first responders including police, firefighters, and other emergency personnel. Comments similar to Dr Grosswald's were made in a recent update by Adam Pressman, director of video production for the David Lynch Foundation, who has interviewed many active military, veterans, and first responders about their experiences of dramatic relief from PTS through Operation Warrior Wellness programmes.
'Knowing that the technique of Transcendental Meditation is a very powerful tool to inoculate people against the impact of a stressful situation, a traumatic situation,' then it makes sense 'to adopt it right away and avoid that problem later on,' he said.
While prevention remains the ultimate goal, Operation Warrior Wellness continues its immediate focus on bringing relief to those suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress. As word spreads about the success of this programme, aided by mounting scientific evidence, they hope military and government leaders will adopt this technology of Transcendental Meditation, both to alleviate suffering and to prevent it in the first place.
