Maharishi Ayur-Veda finds success in Washington D.C.

There have recently been many successes in the field of Maharishi Ayur-Veda health care, many of them in the Washington, D.C. area.

Dr Stuart Rothenberg, Director of Health Professional Training Programs at Maharishi Ayur-Veda Association of America, commented on a few of these successes.

Now based there, he has found there is tremendous opportunity in the nation's capital, opportunity to network with leading doctors and medical professionals, with large hospital centres, with National Institutes of Health (NIH)-supported institutions, and with the government.

Dr Rothenberg continued, 'We also have unique resources here, including Dr Norman Rosenthal, who's a professor of psychiatry at Georgetown University Medical School, one of the leading ones in the region. Dr Rosenthal wrote this excellent book [Transcendence] which became a New York Times bestseller.'

Maharishi Ayur-Veda Association of America has set up many different talks and presentations for Dr Rosenthal. One recent very successful talk was at American University. It was attended by about 85 mental health professionals.

Even more recently, the David Lynch Foundation sponsored a special event in the healthcare field.

The Foundation invited a group of 25 leading healthcare professionals in the area to hear presentations by Dr Rosenthal and several other physicians on the Transcendental Meditation Programme. The event was very successful and the attendees were 'very enthused' to learn more about the technique, Dr Rothenberg said.
