Switzerland: Physician brings integrative medicine expertise to Ayurvedic health centre

At the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre in Seelisberg, Switzerland, high above Lake Lucerne in the idyllic Swiss Alps, guests are fortunate to have their treatment programmes in the care of medical director Dr. Sophie Beall.
The Centre offers treatments including Panchakarma, a traditional Ayurvedic treatment program which is a unique concept for rejuvenation and prevention. A special synergy of treatments eliminate metabolic residue and environmental toxins from the tissues in a gentle and effective manner. The treatments are designed to awaken the body's natural healing mechanisms to improve health and well-being; and create balance in body and mind, the basis for greatly improved vitality, performance, and joy in life.
Dr. Beall's interest has always been in the integration of modern medicine with natural health care; she wrote her thesis on ''Decrease of health-care expenses through Maharishi Ayurveda''.
After graduating as a medical doctor, Dr. Beall specialized in Pediatrics and Public Health. She worked for five years as an internist at the University Hospital of Toulouse – France.
Her training in Maharishi Ayurveda natural health care started in 1981, and has been completed in India and Europe with leading experts, including the Asta Vaidyas (renowned Ayurvedic physicians) from Kerala, India.
Dr Beall has gained extensive experience in the treatment of chronic disease through Maharishi Ayurveda at Maharishi Vedic Health Centre, Valkenburg, Holland and has been teaching physicians and health professionals from all over Europe.
She moved to Switzerland with her family in 2000 and is now the medical director of the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre of Seelisberg. Dr. Beall is registered with santésuisse, EMR, and NVS.
