The article features Emily Marcus, a 2004 graduate of Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA. Emily is graduating from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland this month and will begin her postdoctoral training in internal medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in June.
Emily always liked science and studied Maharishi Vedic Medicine at MUM.
She says that her practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique, practiced by all MUM students as part of the university's Consciousness-Based Education program, has helped her throughout her studies and career. ''Stress is such an issue in my job and I'm lucky to have a technique to easily get away and relax in a few minutes,'' she said.
