Serbia: Training experts in Maharishi Ayur-Veda

Courses to provide training for medical doctors in Maharishi Ayur-Veda healthcare were held in Serbia this past year, and additional courses as well as advanced training are planned for this coming spring and summer.
There is a need for doctors and other medical professionals to be trained now that Serbia's national healthcare has incorporated Maharishi Ayur-Veda along with 17 other systems of traditional medicine, said Dr Branko Cicic, National Leader of the Global Country of World Peace in Serbia.*
In order to accomplish this goal the Ayurveda Association of Serbia - Maharishi College of Perfect Health was founded. The president of the association, Dr Cicic said, is one of the most prominent figures in the medical field in Serbia.
Last year, Dr Walter Molk, Deputy Minister of Health for the Global Country of World Peace, travelled to Serbia to teach blocks I and II of the training course.
The opening ceremonies of the course were broadcast on national television and attended by a leader of the Indian Embassy. The programme has enjoyed great support from the Indian Embassy, Dr Cicic said.
Another course followed in December 2010 which also drew participants from neighbouring Hungary.
The success of these courses inspired plans for additional courses to be held in April and June of this year. Blocks III and IV will be offered in June for all those who have completed blocks I and II.
Dr Cicic commented that Serbia has had a Maharishi Ayur-Veda spa for the last seven years, and he credits its success with paving the way for Maharishi Ayur-Veda to be widely utilized in the nation.
