One of the Vaidyas—experts in Maharishi Ayur-Veda health care from India—who helped lead a Maharishi VedAroma course this spring in Provence, France, discussed how essential oils can play a key role in promoting health by reducing stress and enlivening bliss.
Ayurveda emphasizes that in addition to balance and purification of the physiology, one must experience bliss, the Vaidya said. Without bliss one cannot be truly healthy, he commented.*
Aromatherapy is an effective means to enliven a 'state of bliss at the level of senses, mind, and soul', he continued.
Within the framework of Maharishi Ayur-Veda, VedAroma 'is a great approach to treat society with bliss'. This is especially important at this time when stress-related illnesses and disorders are so prevalent.
Essential oils also support the psychology by helping, for example, to strengthen courage, reduce stress, and relieve insomnia, he said.
The use of VedAroma within the context of Maharishi Ayur-Veda is a unique approach to health, he concluded, and will be very beneficial to society.
In the coming days Global Good News will continue to feature comments from the course participants.
