Increased life expectancy, focus on preventive health care signal invincibility for Holland

A recent study in Holland reveals positive health trends in the nation, and recommends preventive approaches in alignment with Maharishi Ayur-Veda health care.
First, the report revealed that from 2003 to 2008, life expectancy in Holland rose by two years for both men and women—the fastest rate of growth ever recorded for the nation. 'Most importantly, these two extra years are noted to be healthy, happy ones, rather than a sign of prolonged life due to modern medicine,' added Dr Paul Gelderloos, National Director of Holland for the Global Country of World Peace, speaking on Maharishi Global Family Chat.*
The report also revealed that, although incidence of chronic disease has risen, subjective experience of poor health has decreased. Also, lifestyle practices have improved for Dutch citizens, including reduction in smoking and use of drugs and alcohol, stabilization of weight, and increased exercise.
The study also put forward recommendations for improving health, focussing on prevention of disease for both the general public and specific at-risk groups. 'This stance is quite astonishing for the health industry,' remarked Dr Gelderloos, 'since in the past there has mainly been a focus on treating disease once it occurs.' He also noted that the Dutch study identified prevention of disease as closely tied to economic productivity, as it would decrease absenteeism in the workplace, and encourage a sense of togetherness and cooperation—both strong values in Holland.
'I was overjoyed to read this report, as it matches closely the principles of Maharishi Ayur-Veda put forward by the Global Country Ministry of Health,' said Dr Gelderloos in closing. 'The report is a clear sign of sustained national invincibility in Holland,' he added—an effect of coherence in collective consciousness produced by the large continuing Invincible Holland Assembly of Yogic Flyers, now in its fourth year.
* Dr Gelderloos's report was featured on the 23 April 2010 Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
