Radiant health with gem and light therapy, new modality offered by Maharishi Ayur-Veda

Your doctor may soon prescribe gemstones for your health. A new, natural health treatment called Maharishi Gem and Light Therapy is a powerful, holistic modality to support the development of higher states of consciousness and treatment of imbalances in the physiology. It is based on Maharishi Ayur-Veda, the most ancient and comprehensive system of natural medicine.

Joachim Roller, a German gemologist and goldsmith, has been researching and developing gem therapy over the past 30 years under the guidance of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Transcendental Meditation Programme and the Global Country of World Peace—which offers Maharishi's Programmes worldwide, including Maharishi Vedic Health Care.

Mr Roller recently described how this therapy developed. In 1979, in response to Mr Roller's question if there were something valuable he could study in the field of gem therapy, Maharishi suggested that he look into Ayurveda. Charaka Samhita, the foundation of Ayurvedic knowledge in the Vedic Literature, includes knowledge of gems.

While researching gem therapy, Mr Roller began by working with gems in the form of fine powders that could be absorbed into the skin and also used in Rasayanas (special Ayurvedic formulas to promote health and longevity).

He also created a pen-like device—referred to as a 'beamer'—which shines light through a colored gem to amplify its effectiveness. Referring to the understanding from Maharishi's Vedic Science, Mr Roller explained, 'The intelligence of Nature is structured in gems. The perfect orderliness of the light shining through the gem enlivens orderliness on the subtle level of the physiology.' In 2007, with Maharishi's guidance Mr Roller designed a 12-gem 'beamer' as a therapy tool for the treatment of chronic disorders, which is in development.
