The Transcendental Meditation Programme can resolve heart disease and its contributing risk factors, on the level of the body's inner intelligence—by restoring that intelligence from the level of pure, Transcendental Consciousness in a holistic way.

This was the expert analysis presented by Dr Robert Schneider at a recent international seminar in MERU, Holland.

'This basic, fundamental effect on the level of the Unified Field of the body's inner intelligence has a wide variety of effects,' Dr Schneider said. 'Understanding some of the effects that the experience of Pure Consciousness has on mind and body is relatively easy and simple because we can relate it to our own experience.'

He presented a new slide show showing these effects, entitled:

'A new scientifically proven technique to prevent and treat cardiovascular disease and its risk factors: The scientific evidence of the clinical efficacy and cost effectiveness of the Transcendental Meditation Programme.'

Dr Schneider showed a summary of this slide presentation: Recent clinical trials, other controlled clinical studies and meta-analyses have identified a new non-drug treatment that leads to improved medical outcomes for patients with cardiovascular disease, including hypertension and coronary heart disease.

'This treatment, the Transcendental Meditation Programme, has already been shown to be widely acceptable,' he said. 'It is the most widely practised meditation and stress reduction programme in the world. It has been shown to be cost effective and free of harmful side-effects.'

Dr Schneider proposed that the Transcendental Meditation Programme be actively utilized, supported, or reimbursed as a first-line treatment, or even complementary or adjunctive non-drug therapy, for the treatment of hypertension or high blood pressure; also as a treatment for those patients with established heart disease.

In the coming days Global Good News will feature a second article on Dr Schneider's presentation, which was part of the advanced seminar on offering Transcendental Meditation through health insurance companies, held 14 January in MERU, Holland.
