On 31 August 2008 Fiji Daily Post reported:
Transcendental Meditation, or 'TM' as it is commonly described by its Western practitioners, was introduced to the world by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi of India, and a total of 600 scientific research studies have since been carried out in 200 universities and research institutions around 32 countries to prove its authenticity. Maharishi Mahesh opened the gateway of enlightenment to millions of people and his influence is now bringing the untapped knowledge of Natural Law to the field of health to create a disease-free society.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of health.
Hassan Ali is a retired high school teacher who explains to the Fiji Daily Post how the Transcendental Meditation technique has worked for him and how it can work for anyone in society.
He explained that the practice of TM is very easy to do because it is an effortless mental technique that is done sitting comfortably with eyes closed.
'So what happens during TM is that the activity of the mind settles down and when this happens the minds get into the character of unlimited or unbounded awareness like the wave of the ocean which settles down calmly. TM creates this consciousness which is the fourth state of human awareness,' he explained to the Fiji Daily Post.
He said that even as a child he knew that there was something missing from his life so he started looking to see how he could improve it. Eventually, in 1964 he found Transcendental Meditation as taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
His life soon became more enjoyable, he said, because through the practice he was able to rise to higher states of consciousness.
He discovered, 'We are born with an infinite reservoir of creativity and total knowledge we can all get just by accessing meditation which is very easy to do. TM is also an answer to curb poverty which is due to lack of creativity and if we can teach people to be more creative, it has the power to improve their lives and there is no reason why people cannot be affluent and stable. TM will also create good health therefore reducing your medical bills and there will be more saving for people,' he told the Fiji Daily Post.
By 1987 he started teaching TM on a part-time basis until he retired from his job. Now he is promoting the meditation technique full-time by visiting schools, meeting with teachers and students, and explaining to them the many benefits of practising Transcendental Meditation.
TM is a technique that will improve people's lives by reducing anxiety, stress, and nervousness. He explains that the technique will help 'create a better human being and as a result when human beings are better, then the society becomes better and this can have an effect on the good function of a nation and its government. Even crime rates will drop when you have a big group of people performing TM.'
He told the Fiji Daily Post, 'It is very important to do the TM technique because it is something to do with yourself and people should learn very quickly and it will make their lives better. You'll feel good throughout the day and feel more efficient as a result and your work will be more stable and you will definitely have more energy to do the work while taking more interest in what you do at the same time.'
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
