Dutch insurance companies interested in Transcendental Meditation

Dr Paul Gelderloos, National Director of the Global Country of World Peace for the Netherlands, reported recently on the Maharishi Global Family Chat that labour unions and insurance companies in Holland are expressing interest in meditation.
It came out in several newspapers recently that a number of labour unions are emphasizing the importance of meditation. They state that it needs to be part of employment contracts, because it is better for the employees—they are happier, healthier, and more relaxed. 'So we want to be part of the employment contract,' said Dr Gelderloos, and offer the benefits of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation.
Insurance companies are interested as well, Dr Gelderloos said. There are four or five large insurance companies in Holland, and their concern is two-fold. One is that people are living longer, which means insurance companies have to support them longer; and secondly, people are not necessarily living a healthy lifestyle.
The insurance companies, interested in something for the total well-being of the people, are now referring to Transcendental Meditation as a very significant means of helping to ensure that people not only live longer, but also stay healthy. 'The Director of Education [for the Global Country of World Peace in the Netherlands] is in touch with one of the large health insurance companies,' Dr Gelderloos said.
A magazine came out from another large health insurance company with an article that said 'clean up your ship', meaning, Dr Gelderloos said, clean up your mind and your body through meditation. The article referred to meditation as ultimate relaxation. Meditation is the way to relax and to relieve one's mind of unnecessary thoughts; for some it's even a way to come to a deeper essence of life, the article said.
There is no meditation as profound, well studied and researched as Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation, said Dr Gelderloos. 'So under the direction and inspiration of Raja Willem', Raja of Invincible Holland for the Global Country of World Peace, other Directors are also talking with the insurance companies about this programme.
