On 17 March 2007 Reuters reported:
A six-month study of 23 African Americans with varying degrees of heart failure showed that Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation not only improved the health of both mind and body, but also raised the overall quality of life of the participants.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of health.
Reuters reported that participants in the study 'were randomly assigned either to practice TM or to attend health education classes in addition to their standard heart failure treatment.'
'After 6 months, the meditation group improved their average performance on the 6-minute walk test, a standard way of gauging exercise capacity. TM practitioners also showed greater improvements on standard measures of quality of life and depression symptoms compared with the health-education group,' Reuters reported.
'The findings are published in the medical journal Ethnicity & Disease,' the article stated.
