Peace palace could be coming
by Anne Danahy
Centre Daily Translate This Article
6 July 2005
On 6 July 2005 Centre Daily reported:
The Global Country of World Peace plans to open several thousand 'Peace Palaces' across the country, including one in the State College area. The Centre Daily quoted Pedro Ugalde, one of the directors of the upcoming Iowa facility, as saying, 'The basic concept of the Peace Palace is a centre where all the peace-loving people can come and gain knowledge of how to create and promote health and peace in society and in their lives.'
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of health.
Ugalde explained that the Peace Palace would offer classes in the Transcendental Meditation Programme (TM), as well as offering spa treatments and other stress-reducing services.
Ugalde told reporter Anne Danahy that by creating a large group of people who practise TM the Peace Palaces will have a positive effect not just on those meditating, but on the whole world. Benefits will include creating better health and reducing violence. He cited a recent study published in the American Journal of Cardiology which showed that TM had a positive effect on those suffering from elevated blood pressure.
While fundraising efforts continue for the $3 million Peace Palace project, Ugalde said he plans to rent space in the area in order to offer TM and spa services immediately.
Kent Boyum, a Maharishi Vedic City resident who is co-director of a planned Peace Palace in Iowa City, said that three of the palaces have been completed and another 30 are in their final stages.
'We actually think it's important to have some place in the busy life of everyone in the city that's a place for supporting peace and for supporting silence and the quiet value of your life,' Boyum was quoted as saying.
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
