Ambulance Today Translate This Article
26 June 2018
On 26 June 2018, Ambulance Today (UK) reported: The keynote speaker at a celebration of International Yoga Day in Parliament on Thursday 21 June, hosted by the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Indian Traditional Sciences, [was] Dr Tony Nader, MD, PhD, MARR, a distinguished neuroscientist and the leader of the worldwide Transcendental Meditation organisation founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the fields of government and health.
[The celebration was held in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, Westminster, London.]
Dr Nader, who has a PhD in neuroscience from MIT, [spoke] on 'Yoga, consciousness and prevention' and . . . present[ed] the scientific basis of yoga from two points of view: first, the scientific research on the benefits of yoga, of which Transcendental Meditation is a central aspect; and second, how the principles of yoga are found reflected in physics, physiology, and other areas of modern science. He . . . show[ed] published research showing the relevance of yoga for promotion of health and prevention of disease.
The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Indian Traditional Sciences is a cross-party forum for parliamentarians, senior policy makers, academics, leading community figures and stakeholders, to raise the profile of Indian traditional sciences in and outside parliament, and to show how these sciences—which include Ayurveda, Yoga, and Jyotish—can greatly benefit public services including the NHS.
