Togo: Programmes presented to raise the quality of life of the nation

Government leaders in Togo recently heard compelling presentations on how scientifically verified programmes developed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in health care, education, justice, rehabilitation, and other areas could help individual citizens while promoting social coherence, invincible peace and progress in the nation as a whole.

The presentations were given by Dr Bevan Morris, President of Maharishi University of Management, who is a distinguished international expert in the full range of Maharishi's programmes which have been successfully applied in many countries. Dr Morris met with ministers representing different areas of government and described to the Prime Minister the great opportunity offered by all these initiatives to secure invincibility and problem-free administration for the nation.

In Togo health officials learned about the extensive body of published scientific research on the Transcendental Meditation Programme, which is 'of value to all the physicians and medical leaders of research in the country', Dr Morris commented recently. This research includes many studies conducted by Dr Robert Schneider with major funding from the National Institutes of Health in the United States, showing beneficial effects on cardiovascular disease; these include insulin studies which also impact on heart disease—'something of very great significance being offered for the health of the nation', Dr Morris said.

The success of Consciousness-Based Education in schools, colleges, and universities around the world was the subject of a presentation to an education leader at a university in Togo, as well as to the education official for primary and secondary education.

Global Good News will report more about prison programmes presented by Dr Morris to the government official in that area, which included a large-scale, highly successful rehabilitation programme implemented in Senegal in the 1980s.
