Malaysia: Enlightened citizens of Penang help launch world's first 'million mudballs' eco-environment cleanup

Malaysia's Transcendental Meditation Teachers and practitioners contributed greatly to the success of a recent large eco-environmental project to clean up and revitalize rivers in the state of Penang.
Dr Noel Lee, Director of the Transcendental Meditation Centre in Penang, said that many participated 'with great joy' in the 'One Million Apologies to Mother Earth' initiative earlier this month.
She said that this EM (Effective Microorganism) project—also known as a 'million mudballs'—makes use of a technology developed in Japan by Prof Dr Teruo Higa to clean up sludge and give 'life' to the marine, agriculture, and environmental sectors. The technology, which makes use of naturally-occurring, beneficial microorganisms, is used in 130 countries.
Dr Lee explained that Mr Soo Lee Choo, who is a practitioner of the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, 'had the honour of meeting with Professor Higa and was the initiator of this million mudballs project,' which was launched in Penang—the first carried out on such a large scale in the world.
The programme was adopted by the state government, and the Penang Transcendental Meditation Centre was one of the NGOs (non-governmental organizations) participating, she said.
Many of the local Yogic Flyers and Meditators 'worked tirelessly' on the project, she said, commenting on the mutual support and camaraderie among the thousands of people working together to achieve the project's success.
Photos of the event showed the Chief Minister of Penang, State Councillors, and the Transcendental Meditation group participating. 'We are indeed proud that many behind this event are Transcendental Meditation practitioners,' Dr Lee said, including Mr Soo and his wife, Christine Soo.
The Transcendental Meditation Teachers have been steadily 'planting the seeds' of the knowledge and programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi 'to raise the consciousness of our country through Penang', Dr Lee said. Their plans include continuing to educate the public in the value of experiencing and stabilizing Pure Consciousness* through Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Programme, as the 'platform of coherence' for fulfilment of desires and for creating an invincible, enlightened nation and world living in harmony with Natural Law.
* Pure Consciousness: The silent, unbounded field of pure intelligence at the basis of all the mind's activity. This field, which is also the Unified Field of total Natural Law, the fundamental level of intelligence at the basis of the entire universe, may be experienced directly and its infinite potential fully unfolded in daily life through the regular practice of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Programme and its Advanced Techniques, including Yogic Flying.
