About.com (owned by the New York Times Company) reported that on 25 July 2001 Vedic City, Iowa, USA, became the world's first city to promote the peace, prosperity, health, and well-being of all its residents by taking advantage of the ancient principles of Vedic Architecture as brought to light by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
