On 22 August 2005 The Hindustan Times reported:
An article which appeared on the front page of the Hindustan Times, India's most popular English daily, has quoted John Hagelin, President, US Peace Government, as saying that the Vastu as propagated by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, is the only answer to all ills facing the US and UK. The story referred to Hagelin's press conference in Washington in which he advised both Bush and Blair to have north entrances to the White House and 10 Downing Street and to shut down the southern entrances.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of government.
The article, which described Hagelin as a quantum physicist and 'Vedic Architecture buff', said that Hagelin predicted that closing south entrances would put an end to the troubles in Iraq.
The article observed that Vedic principles are fast gaining popularity in the US and specifically referred to a $72-million complex, said to be the world's largest Vedic green office building, which is being constructed just outside Washington DC.
The article observed that most of the Vastu principles gaining acceptance in the world today are being propagated by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
'Nothing good will ever come from the government as long as the leaders are living and working in the disorderly influence of improperly designed and oriented buildings. The leaders should flee these old buildings as if they were hit by an earthquake,' Hagelin was quoted as saying.
His advice extends to the entire world including India where he said the government should abandon the Parliament buildings because of their skewed entrances.
'The positive effects of a proper eastern orientation on the brain and behaviour are now being documented by modern science,' Hagelin said, referring to the recent research that points to greater efficiency of neuronal functioning when the head is oriented towards the east, compared to the south.
The article also quoted Jonathan Lipman, the Chief Vedic architect from the Maharishi organization as saying, 'Beyond beauty and engineering, architecture should be able to create influences.'
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
