On 17 September 2004 Age of Enlightenment News Service reported: In his latest weekly press conference to the Indian media, His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi said it is the duty of every government to make the country and its people invincible. He also warned the government to either achieve invincibility, or be prepared to be thrown out by the people. It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of government.

Maharishi also asked the government of India to stop being a slave to the West and adopt the Constitution of the Global Country of World Peace or Vedic Administration. He said that Vedic Administration is a perfect harmony of the manifest and the unmanifest, of knowledge and dynamism.

Maharishi said that the concept of invincibility is as valid for India as it is for the rest of the world. Unfortunately, man-made constitutions have not only wrecked havoc in India, but also in the world. In India there has always been a war between negative and positive forces, but the latter has always been victorious.

Maharishi said that so-called secularism, or democracy, is the concept of the Varnashankars, or the slaves of the West. The propagators of this system may have rejected Dharma, but they can not dissuade the people from reciting the Ramayana, or celebrating the festivals. 'Damn democracy,' Maharishi said. The democratic system has satisfied neither the ruler nor the people in any part of the world. Yet all of them continue to live in illusions.

Maharishi also warned the Indian press not to fall into the trap of Western- influenced philosophies. Instead of focusing on negative trends in society, the press must promote the ancient knowledge of India, the Veda.

He questioned the validity of interpretation of Vedas by so-called philosophers of the West. For them, the great Indian knowledge is merely a myth. This trend has been continuing since the time of Max Mueller. The Western press, inspired by these thoughts, is foisting 'secularist values' in the name of democracy. This has fragmented national consciousness and society.

Extolling the glory of mother and motherland, Maharishi explained that motherland is as nourishing and caring to its inhabitants as a mother to her children. The role of both can be understood in the light of Atma, or the Self. While motherland or mother is manifest, the Atma is unmanifest, he explained.

Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
