Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture: 'A great blessing and boon' to the UK

The new 16-lesson course in Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture was recently presented in two communities in Great Britain where many people practise the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme. The course couldn't have come at a better time, participants have commented, as they have an immediate, deep, and practical interest in this knowledge.

A new project for the Maharishi European Sidhaland in the north of England involves moving to a new site that will be developed according to Vastu principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, Vedic Architecture. The new site will feature an agricultural project as well.

'It will be a market village project,' said Raja Peter Warburton, Raja of Great Britain for the Global Country of World Peace, on 19 March.* 'So everything presented in the course on agriculture was of great practical interest to everyone.'

Speaking about Maharishi Garden Village in the south of the country, Raja Peter explained that 'it is not by accident it has that name. . . . The founders of the community wanted to create a garden village'—just as Maharishi Mahesh Yogi had described as the ideal Sthapatya Veda development—so they wanted the name of the community to include the word 'garden'.

Raja Peter also said that when the project began, the founders consulted experts in Maharishi Jyotish (the Vedic Science of prediction), who recommended 'Ga' as the correct sound** for the beginning of the community's name. So these are the two reasons it became Maharishi Garden Village, Raja Peter said.

'So this community was also waiting for the knowledge' presented in the new Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture course, Raja Peter said. 'The construction of the houses is complete, the Maharishi Peace Palace is coming along', and it was timely for the knowledge of this very rich Agriculture and Gardening course to come to them. 'They are also interested in acquiring farmland nearby and having their own Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture project.

'This course was really a great blessing and boon to the country,' Raja Peter said, 'a tremendous representation of Maharishi's knowledge.'
