Students, faculty, and farmers in Turkey were enthusiastic to hear about food purity and safety, including organic, non-GMO agriculture from expert Raja Dr John Fagan during a recent tour of the country. Dr Fagan's visit also inspired Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture initiatives.

Dr John Fagan, a Raja of the Global Country of World Peace with Global Responsibility for Food Purity and Safety and for Healthy Invincibility, travelled to Turkey and spoke to students, farmers, agricultural leaders, and proponents of Genetic Engineering about the hazards of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).

Turkey has been under pressure from multi-national corporations to introduce GMOs, and this has resulted in a great wave of popular protest, said Raja Paul Potter, Raja of Invincible Turkey.*

Dr Fagan received a standing ovation from 300 university students and faculty in response to his revelations about the dangers of genetically modified foods.

This lecture inspired a pilot research project on Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture, to be done by the university on their land.

A talk at another university drew an audience of 800 students and faculty—a 'packed house', Raja Paul said. The questions went on and on. Dr Fagan commented that this was the largest audience he had seen in years.

Dr Fagan also addressed organic farmers from all over Turkey—many of whom already practise the Transcendental Meditation Programme. He discussed Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture with them, and they were fascinated by the concept of utilizing Vedic Sound to enhance their crops, Raja Potter said.

The media also reported his message about food safety. Dr Fagan did a television interview, and was also featured in a very good newspaper article, Raja Paul reported.

Dr Fagan also participated in a panel discussion along with GMO proponents. Dr Fagan's expertise and scientific knowledge 'shook' the GMO proponents, who had not previously understood the reality of the situation, Raja Potter said.

In coming days, Global Good News will feature the continuation of Raja Paul's report about Turkey.

* Raja Paul's report was featured on the 28 December 2009 Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
