Pakiso Litau and Tholoana Mbande were among the first students to enroll at Maharishi Institute in Johannesburg, South Africa. They both received the top student award—Pakiso in 2010 and Tholoana in 2011—and were in the first graduating class in December 2013. This October, they were the first graduates of Maharishi Institute to enrol in the MBA intern programme on the Maharishi University of Management (MUM) campus in Fairfield, Iowa, USA.

Both students found that the practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique helped them with the demands of their jobs in an internship program while earning their BA degrees at Maharishi Institute. ''TM helps me cope with whatever I am doing,'' said Pakiso. Both also appreciated how Consciousness-Based Education at MI incorporated academic knowledge as well as knowledge of the Self, so they chose Maharishi University of Management to further their education.
