A recent visit to the Caucasus region, at the gateway between Europe and Asia, brought Dr Ashley Deans to Georgia. Dr Deans is Executive Director of Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment in Iowa, USA, and also serves as Global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education.
In Georgia Dr Deans met with top filmmakers as well as education and sports officials. At the national film school, it was arranged for filmmaker David Lynch, who is also founder of the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace, to give a lecture via Skype to students, hosted by Dr Deans.
The hall was packed to overflowing. In the hour before the talk began, Dr Deans spoke with members of the press, explaining what Consciousness-Based Education is and the great success of the programme at Maharishi School and other institutions around the world. Then David Lynch connected from California. He spoke and answered questions from students and faculty thoughtfully and completely. By the end the audience was so appreciative and so interested in Transcendental Meditation, the central element of Consciousness-Based Education, that a series of future lectures on the subject were arranged.
