Last week the boys tennis team at Maharishi School in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, made Iowa history in many ways. By winning the Class 1A State Team Championship, they completed the coveted ''Triple Crown,'' having already won the State Singles and State Doubles Championships. This is the third time the 'Pioneers' have swept the top tennis honors, having won back-to-back Triple Crowns in 1999 and 2000. No other school in Iowa has won three Triple Crowns!
It also marked the 17th time the boys team has reached the Final Four, another state record—on top of the 10th consecutive Final Four appearance, another Iowa record.
''They've had a great year,' said Coach Steve Briggs, ''but I wasn't expecting the domination. Our guys never wavered under the pressure.''
The whole Fairfield community celebrated the winning tennis team with a victory parade and car caravan—followed by a Celebration of Success in the school's Henry Ogden Clark* Auditorium, which was livestreamed with Pioneer alumni and fans all over the world joining in online.

Global Good News comment:
* The auditorium is named in honour of the architect of the school, as well as of the renowned Golden Domes on the campus of Maharishi University of Management, where the school is located. The two Domes were built in 1979-1981 for group practice of Transcendental Meditation and its advanced programmes, to create an influence of coherence and harmony in national and world consciousness. All Maharishi School students practise Transcendental Meditation as part of Consciousness-Based Education; many Upper School students also participate in the advanced programmes in the Domes.
