Consciousness-Based Education a 'golden key that opens inner potential'

Dr Ashley Deans, an international expert in Consciousness-Based Education who led a recent training course in this field at Maharishi European Research University in the Netherlands, spoke about participants' goals as they prepared to return to their countries at the end of the course.

Dr Deans, Global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education, was Director of the award-winning Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment in Iowa, USA, for 17 years, and is professor of education and physics at Maharishi University of Management.

It was a great honour to be the course leader, Dr Deans said. It was fulfilling to watch the participants grow in understanding of this unique system of education and its possibilities for implementation.

A school teacher from Ukraine said that she felt grateful 'to have gained this beautiful knowledge that will enable me to make a difference in the lives of many people, many children and adults in our country'.

It is easy through Consciousness-Based Education to begin to unfold the inner genius of every student, said Dr Deans, but the system of education also has broad social implications.

When a large school has implemented Consciousness-Based Education fully, 'then that school will be a lighthouse of knowledge, a lighthouse of coherence and the generator of invincibility for the whole country,' explained Dr Deans. He was referring to the state of invincible peace, harmony, and prosperity that can be created in a nation through large groups of students practising Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's peace-creating technologies of consciousness, Transcendental Meditation and the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme.

A teacher from Romania also noted the importance of this point. She said, 'This course gave me the knowledge of how to solve the big challenges facing my country. Together we will change the world because this Total Knowledge can help fulfil the highest ideals of individual and national life.'

A teacher from Mongolia said that the simple steps of applying Consciousness-Based Education are enough to change the destiny of Mongolia in the right direction.

'When I come back to my country,' said a teacher from Russia with 30 years' experience, 'I will tell everybody, every student, every teacher, that this technique of Transcendental Meditation . . . is like a golden key that opens the infinite inner potential of everybody. In this course I learned how to give this magic golden key to everyone in my country to make Russia invincible and prosperous.'
