CNN anchor Candy Crowley to speak at Maharishi University of Management graduation

Candy Crowley, CNN chief political correspondent and one of the most distinguished and respected broadcast journalists in America, will deliver the 2012 commencement address at Maharishi University of Management (MUM) in Fairfield, Iowa.

Ms. Crowley is also the host of the award-winning Sunday morning political talk show ''State of the Union'' on CNN, and regularly interviews heads of state as well as top government leaders in the U.S. and around the world. 

Her interviewees have included US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, and former President George W. Bush.

Ms. Crowley has been practicing the Transcendental Meditation^® technique since 2008. Along with Dr. Mehmet Oz, she was a cohost of the David Lynch Foundation's ''Change Begins Within'' benefit gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City in 2010.

Ms. Crowley was nominated for a Maharishi Award by the MUM Global Student Council this past December but was unable to attend. This award will be presented to her when she is on campus.

''She said she is 'very honored and excited' to be able to speak at our 2012 commencement ceremony,'' said MUM executive vice-president Craig Pearson.

Commencement will be on Saturday, May 26, at 1:00 p.m. in the Maharishi Patanjali Golden Dome.
