On 8 November, Dr Fred Travis will begin a lecture tour of six prestigious universities throughout Germany. These universities invited Dr Travis to speak to their students, faculty, and greater community about higher states of consciousness and brain physiology.
Dr Travis is a world-renowned scientist and researcher, and Director of the Center for Brain, Consciousness, and Cognition at Maharishi University of Management.
The universities on the lecture tour include some of the largest, oldest, and most distinguished centres of higher education in Germany.
There is the University of Cologne, founded in 1388; the University of Lübeck, one of the most respected medical schools in Western Europe; the University of Stuttgart, a leading technical university; the University of Tübingen, established in 1477; the University of Münster, Germany's third largest university and a leading research institute; and the University of Magdeburg, which focuses on the fields of medicine and technology.
The universities organized Dr Travis's lectures and are promoting them among the academic community, so they are expected to be well-attended, said Dr Eckart Stein, Director of Education for the Transcendental Meditation Programme in Germany.
Dr Travis will speak about brain research and the development of higher states of consciousness. His lectures will cover 'what is beyond sleeping, dreaming, and waking states and that these higher states of consciousness actually can be measured in the human brain physiology once a person starts to practise Transcendental Meditation,' Dr Stein said.
The cordial welcome extended by these leading universities is an indication of increasing openness and receptivity in Germany to the knowledge and technologies of consciousness, he commented. Attendees at Dr Travis's lectures in many countries have often been inspired to begin creating their own brain coherence through Transcendental Meditation.
