Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, was honoured recently by Dave Loebsack, member of the United States Congress representing the district in the state of Iowa in which the University's campus is located.

Congressman Loebsack sent a message of warm congratulations on the 40th anniversary of the University's founding, on 12 September 2011:

''For the past 40 years Maharishi University of Management has been a pioneer in a number of areas of higher education.

''I appreciate the new approaches they are taking and are contributing to the discussions on higher education policy and strategies.

''When in Iowa I always enjoy my time in the surrounding communities, which are enhanced by the university and boast a diverse array of entrepreneurs, cultures, suustainability, in all facets of society, health and well being, and the arts.

''I sincerely congratulate Maharishi University of Management on its 40th anniversary, and I'm happy to represent this institution and the surrounding communities in my congressional district.''
