The article features Brooke Hadfield, who learned the Transcendental Meditation technique at the age of 18 on the recommendation of a friend, and discovered Maharishi University of Management (MUM) through a brochure at her local TM center in Australia. Four years later, in 2006, she came to MUM to begin her journey towards self-discovery and leadership.

Before becoming a student, Brooke learned the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme and spent nine months on the Invincible America Assembly. Next she joined the Mother Divine Programme for a year, where she took courses for credit at Maharishi University of Enlightenment.

Participating in all these programs inspired Brooke to create her individualized MUM degree in Consciousness-Based Leadership with a specialization in women's leadership studies. ''The study of Consciousness-Based leadership for me was a natural unfoldment in the course of my academic studies, and is ultimately the art of leading one's self to be in tune with natural law,'' said Brooke.
