The article profiles Maria Marino, from Cuernavaca, Mexico, who graduated in July from Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA. Maria earned a BFA degree and was honoured with the Outstanding Student Award from the Department of Art.

Art faculty consider her 'an exceptional artist who has established a deep connection with her own Self, pure consciousness'.

Maria appreciates the MUM faculty and their support in her development not only as a student but also as an individual. 'There is a maturity in the relationship between the students and the teachers,' she said. 'You don't have to prove you are good enough here—you are already good enough. You just have to dive in and keep developing and exploring.'
