South Africa: Maharishi Invincibility Institute expands to 250 students

Several innovative programmes in Consciousness-Based Education have been developing in South Africa.

The flagship Maharishi Invincibility Institute (MII) in Johannesburg, South Africa, now has 250 students. All the students practise Transcendental Meditation, and 70 also practise the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying, together daily to create coherence and harmony in national consciousness. The infrastructure of this school will allow the student body to expand to 1,000.

A partnership has been formed between a telecommunications company in Johannesburg and Maharishi University of Management (MUM) in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, so that company employees can earn degrees from MUM. So far, 37 managers and employees have been enrolled for BAs and MBAs.

Also during this year, 900 people have learned the Transcendental Meditation Programme in South Africa; 24 National Yagya* performances have been completed for South Africa; and 29 Transcendental Meditation teachers are becoming recertified.

* Maharishi Yagyas are precise Vedic performances, conducted by Maharishi Vedic Pandits in India, to create specific life-supporting influences for individuals and nations from the field of pure consciousness, the field of total Natural Law, which is fully awakened in the Pandits' consciousness through their daily practice of Transcendental Meditation and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme.
