IT and technologies of consciousness - bringing Transcendental Meditation to more people in Kazakhstan

Throughout the past year, the Global Mother Divine Organization* (GMDO) in Kazakhstan has been very active promoting Consciousness-Based Education, the Transcendental Meditation Programme, and other courses and programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in the country.

Kazakhstan was fortunate to have a visit from Dr Ashley Deans,** Global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education, last spring. GMDO leaders, including National Director Irina Kurbatova, organized for his presentations to students and faculty of two schools and a university. One school expressed interest in implementing Transcendental Meditation in its curriculum. The principal and some faculty members, having learned the technique several years ago, feel the whole school could benefit.

The official website for the Transcendental Meditation Programme in Kazakhstan was launched last July. The Russian-language website aims to inspire more people to learn the technique, and also to inspire people in Kazakhstan who already practise Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying with more good news of the Global Country of World Peace.

In August the first Refresher Course for Teachers of the Transcendental Meditation Programme in Kazakhstan was held in a beautiful location surrounded by mountains, 70 km from Almaty, the largest city in the country. The women's section of the course, with eight participants, was conducted by the Administrator of the Global Mother Divine Organization for Kazakhstan.

This news was featured in a presentation of GMDO–Kazakhstan's achievements during the global Full Moon celebration on 19 January—a continuation of the Global Mother Divine Organization's 12 January celebrations in MERU, Holland.

* The Global Mother Divine Organization was founded in December 2007 as the women's wing of the Global Country of World Peace, currently active in 86 countries and rapidly expanding to include 192 countries of the world. In the ancient Vedic tradition of India, the expression 'Mother Divine' refers to the universal, all-nourishing qualities of nature—bliss, intelligence, creativity, harmony—that promote life in the direction of peace and progress.
