The article features Emanuel Schachinger, who was born in the foothills of the Austrian Alps, where his father, Wolfgang Schachinger, MD, runs a Maharishi Ayur-Veda health centre.

Emanuel is currently completing his BA degree in business administration at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, and intends to continue in the MBA programme. He serves on the MUM Global Student Council as president of World Congress, which helps students and university departments with planning to create positive change.

Emanuel learned the Transcendental Meditation Technique at age 10 and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme at MUM in 2009. 'I came to MUM because of its unique educational system combining traditional education with spiritual growth,' he says.
