New Consciousness-Based Education programmes, publications for students

The International Foundation of Consciousness-Based Education has developed numerous courses and programmes for expansion of Consciousness-Based Education around the world. Among plans for the coming year 2011 is the development of a rich, multi-faceted follow-up knowledge programme for schools and post-secondary institutions where students have learned the Transcendental Meditation Programme.

As part of this programme, students and teachers at the school will have the opportunity to meet with Transcendental Meditation Teachers regularly, said Dr Susan Dillbeck, President of the Foundation, speaking on 12 January 2011.

Dr Dillbeck also presented a new, beautifully illustrated booklet prepared specifically for students. The booklet features scientific research on the benefits of Transcendental Meditation, photos of students of Consciousness-Based Education around the world, and other aspects of the knowledge and programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

There are photos of students from 12 different countries, Dr Dillbeck said, including a girl receiving a national award in India, a chemistry class and a music class in Uganda, and students in Latin America.

While most education only supports partial brain development, Consciousness-Based Education supports total brain development. The booklet also explains the Maharishi Effect, the Unified Field, and how students can create harmony and coherence in society through their group practice of Yogic Flying.

Quotes from students about their experiences of Consciousness-Based Education are featured on the back of the booklet.

Dr Dillbeck praised everyone who is working to make Consciousness-Based Education available everywhere, 'to help achieve Maharishi's highest goal for education: raising individuals to live Total Knowledge, and raising world consciousness, in Maharishi's words, ''to remember what human life has forgotten, that heaven is the reality on earth, because everyone is carrying the ocean of bliss within themselves.'' '
