School launches marketing effort

Maharishi School is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its Upper School, and according to School director Richard Beall, is gearing up to bring in more students by adding a new marketing department and also getting more boarding students.

'I think the School is the best kept secret in education, and it's time to make ourselves known, particularly at a time when leaders and politicians are placing such an emphasis on educational innovation,' Dr. Beall said.* 'Until now we've mainly relied on word of mouth.'

The marketing team is going to focus on national and international outreach, including attracting boarding students from China, Korea, and Germany. There are currently five boarding students hailing from these three countries as well as Nepal. They will also focus on the School's website and alumni.

The School already has a part-time publicist and writer, Annalisa Miller, and is now adding Chris Albers as marketing director, Malinda Gosvig as alumni director and developer of a summer program, Lee Leffler as a web developer and writer, and School faculty member Greg Holland to assist with photography and the website.
