Belgium: Progress in expanding Consciousness-Based Education, Maharishi Ayur-Veda health care

The past year has been one of significant progress in implementing and expanding programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, especially those in education and health care, in Belgium.

Dr Ashley Deans, Global Ambassador of Consciousness-Based Education, visited Belgium twice in the past year. During these visits he gave presentations to headmasters, teachers, university professors, and other education leaders on the benefits of the Transcendental Meditation Programme for schools. The audience received the presentations with enthusiasm, and some have expressed interest in implementing Consciousness-Based Education in their institutions.

Four Maharishi Ayur-Veda experts, including Lothar Pirc, Managing Director of the renowned Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre in Bad Ems, Germany, met with two members of the European Parliament in Brussels, during which time they presented this ancient, holistic approach to health.

At the Maharishi Spa in Brussels, three new Maharishi Ayur-Veda technicians have joined the staff. The Spa offered many treatments and special Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis consultations during 2010.

Belgium enjoyed a visit from Dr Bevan Morris, President of Maharishi University of Management, who gave an inspiring speech to Transcendental Meditation teachers and Yogic Flyers on topics including the importance of constructing a Maharishi Tower of Invincibility.

Also in 2010, several National Yagya performances were accomplished for Belgium, and the first Maharishi Vastu (Vedic architecture) home was constructed.

These achievements for Belgium in 2010 were reported in continuing sessions of the global 12 January 2011 celebration in MERU, Holland.
