Dr Ashley Deans, Global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education, recently accomplished a very successful tour of Africa, during which he presented to many schools and universities the benefits of the Transcendental Meditation Programme for the classroom.
Dr Deans visited eight countries in Africa in November 2010, including Nigeria, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Seychelles. The first three of these countries are ideal locations to introduce Consciousness-Based Education, since the median age of the population is 18 years.
At the schools and universities he visited, Dr Deans' presentations met with tremendous receptivity. Already three-fourths of the institutions he visited have requested proposals for the implementation of Consciousness-Based Education, and positive feedback has been received in response to proposals that have been submitted.
These achievements for Africa in 2010 were reported in continuing sessions of the 12 January 2011 celebration inaugurating Maharishi's Fourth Year of Invincibility – Global Raam Raj*.
