Construction began a few weeks ago on two 2-storey school buildings in Monterrey, Mexico, which have been designed according to Vastu principles* of Maharishi Vedic Architecture.
According to the November issue of the At Home in Maharishi Vastu e-newsletter, the buildings will be halls for 900 students to practise Transcendental Meditation and the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying, every day. As part of their Consciousness-Based Education programme, these groups of student Yogic Flyers will be creating an influence of coherence, harmony, and peace in their region and for the whole nation.
Coherence-creating student groups have been practising together at a school in Monterrey since last year—see Global Good News article: Monterrey school leading the way for Mexico to achieve national invincibility.
It is a priority of leaders of the Global Country of World Peace in every country to create Maharishi Vastu facilities especially for such groups of Yogic Flyers, to increase the power of coherence they can generate in national consciousness.
The new buildings are being built using both traditional stick frame construction as well as the sandbag system developed in South Africa ten years ago. The system is being used increasingly as a sustainable building technology, especially in developing countries.
Sandbag construction is said to be a cost-efficient, easy approach to 'green' building that provides superior thermal and sound insulation, among other benefits. It has been used recently in a Maharishi Vastu development project in Ukraine.
Those working on the project in Mexico have noticed that the buildings are already developing a strong sense of the power of Maharishi Vastu—they feel an influence of silence and peace even in the midst of the construction activity.
An architect's rendering of one of the buildings can be seen in At Home in Maharishi Vastu (to subscribe to the e-newsletter, visit MaharishiVastu.org/subscribe). A future issue will feature more details and photos of the project.
* Vastu refers to Vastu vidya, Vedic architecture—the knowledge of designing and constructing Fortune-Creating buildings in accord with Natural Law—brought to light from the Vedic Literature as Maharishi Sthapatya Veda by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
