The article features Rubén Sánchez Yepes, who was a professional soccer player in Barcelona, Spain, when he heard a lecture given by Dr Ashley Deans on Consciousness-Based Education. Immediately after meeting Dr Deans, Rubén decided to come to Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA.

He enrolled in the fall of 2009 and after three months of ESL classes he began studying Maharishi Vedic Science. Rubén, who also practices the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, finds that the Transcendental Meditation Technique brings balance and integration to his life and that he is able to recover from challenging situations more quickly.

Rubén is passionate about Consciousness-Based Education and would like to be an educator. He wants to enable children to lead their lives established in the Self through developing their consciousness, and experience the same structure of education he is enjoying at MUM.

'Once you apply this education model on the level of the state, for a whole country, you can really educate other areas of society and create a real change from within,' he says.
