Maharishi College of Enlightenment to offer courses for women

Students will soon have the opportunity to study Maharishi Vedic Science^(SM)—the science of consciousness—with a deeper emphasis on the experience of development of consciousness.

Maharishi College of Enlightenment* (MCE), recently approved by the MUM Trustees, will offer a curriculum, environment, and routine designed to maximize students' growth towards their full development in enlightenment.

'Students of MCE will enjoy a graceful, undistracted atmosphere for learning in single-gender classes,' said Dr. Cathy Gorini, dean of the new College. The women's division is offering special programs this year and plans to start the full BA program in August 2011.

MCE will offer the new Curriculum of Total Knowledge, which Maharishi Mahesh Yogi created from 2005 to 2007. The goal of the curriculum is to help students effortlessly gain more and more fullness of knowledge, and ultimately total knowledge in the state of enlightenment.

During the three-year BA program, total knowledge is structured in the students through analysis and synthesis, repeatedly integrating the diversity of 12 fields of knowledge with their unified basis in the field of consciousness. Students are led from the concrete to the more abstract levels of each discipline, culminating in the unified basis of all disciplines, the field of total knowledge, which they directly experience as their own Self through the Transcendental Meditation and TM Sidhi^® programs. Then the progression is reversed: Each field of knowledge is explored from its basis in consciousness and fundamental principles to its practical applications in society.

'I loved exploring total knowledge with other ladies who were dedicated to getting the most out of education—enlightenment,' said Sarah Sica, admissions counselor and graduate of Maharishi University of Enlightenment, the forerunner of MCE.
